Leah Waldo
Hi! I’m Leah, I’m a Holistic, Trauma-Informed Wellness Coach and I founded Balanced Life Design. I know how it feels to be overwhelmed with the experience of being Highly Sensitive – at one point I was struggling to make it through my day: no energy, low confidence, non-existent self-care, yet would always muster up energy to help someone else when they called.
I was fairly successful in my corporate job but I quickly learned a hard lesson: you can have all the professional success in the world… but unless you know how to create boundaries with clarity, learn how to self-regulate, and cultivate a healthy mindset around self-worth and communication, it’s not possible to have the life you dream of and deserve.
So I set off on a mission to learn everything I could about being an HSP in an effort to get to a place where I was finally thriving…
In my search to master everything about being Highly Sensitive, I learned to generate a solid foundation of calm and focused confidence while communicating healthy boundaries with ease… And everyone started asking how they could replicate the same results in THEIR lives too.
So, I designed a program to teach my signature methodology that has allowed me to support clients in deepening their connection to themselves and learn how to clearly communicate boundaries with compassion so they can create an authentic life they love. That is how “Balanced Life Design” was born!
Background:
I have actively engaged in deepening my practice through courses such as Internal Family Systems (IFS known as “parts” or “inner child” work), Effective Trauma Care, Write your Grief, Human Hardwiring, The Journey Begins/The Journey Continues (recovery and restoration from trauma), Healing the Wounded Heart, Landmark’s Curriculum for Living, Crucial Conversations, Reiki, Inner Stillness, and various nutrition, breathwork, energy, meditation, and yoga workshops. I have designed and facilitated workshops and classes including A Guide to Grieving, Unlocking Your Voice Through Movement, and Creating your Life’s Vision. I will soon be a RYT 200 yoga instructor and have a Bachelor of Science in the Culinary Arts and a Bachelor of Fine Art in Glass and Ceramics. I am also an artist and have a studio near my home in Asheville, NC. I’ve been working with Wendy since 2019 and am well-versed in the Blue Mist Healing technique.
After a decade of struggling with undiagnosed digestive issues, chronic fatigue, depression, ADHD, and more, I turned to natural remedies including nutrition, therapy, life coaching, energy medicine, supplementation, workshops, research, and reflection to learn how to heal my body and mind and overcome what was stopping me from fully experiencing life. A big benefit of “building my inner mountain” is holding my center when things around me are stormy, having something to cling to in order to remain grounded.
Equipping myself with tools and shifting my mindset has resulted in increased confidence, a higher level of self-awareness, authentic self-expression, and a deepened connection to myself and others. I am living proof that consistent integration of mindset, healthy communication, and nervous system regulation really works. These experiences and others have given me a unique drive and passion to support other Highly Sensitive People on their journey toward optimal health and wellness.
